Hugo Negrete is an Argentinian/Spanish baritone born in Florida, and raised in San Isidro, Buenos Aires. He currently lives in Europe, where he captivates audiences with his powerful voice and passionate performances in intimate settings.
Hugo’s musical journey began at the Astor Piazzola Superior Music Conservatory, where he studied piano, and the Carlos López Buchardo Superior Music Conservatory, where he honed his vocal skills. He furthered his education at the National University of Arts (UNA), earning a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Lyric Singing and a Professor degree in Musical Arts.
During his studies, Hugo was mentored by renowned soprano Marisa Albano and baritone Eduardo Cogorno, and participated in the Pergolesi Vocal Study, performing operatic roles and zarzuela romances. Since graduating, he continues to refine his artistry under the guidance of acclaimed baritone Omar Carrión.
In recent years, Hugo has performed regularly as a soloist in recitals and concerts, gracing the stages of numerous charming and less mainstream venues across Italy. He is passionate about bringing opera to diverse audiences and fostering a deeper connection with the music.
