Biography

 

HUGO-NEGRETE-BARITONO

Hugo Negrete is an Argentinian-Spanish baritone born in Florida and raised in San Isidro, Buenos Aires. He currently resides in Europe, where he captivates audiences with his powerful voice and passionate performances in intimate settings.

His musical journey began at the Astor Piazzolla Superior Conservatory, where he studied piano, and continued at the Carlos López Buchardo Superior Conservatory, where he refined his vocal skills. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Lyric Singing and a Teaching Degree in Musical Arts from the National University of the Arts (UNA).

During his studies, Hugo was mentored by renowned soprano Marisa Albano and baritone Eduardo Cogorno. He participated in the Pergolesi Vocal Study, performing operatic roles and zarzuela romances. Since graduating, he has continued to refine his artistry under the guidance of acclaimed baritone Omar Carrión.

In recent years, he has regularly performed as a soloist in recitals, chamber operas and concerts, appearing in charming and lesser-known venues across Southern and Central Europe. His passion lies in bringing opera and vocal music to diverse audiences, fostering a deeper and more personal connection with the art form.
